Proceedings of the 2019 DigitalFUTURES - The 1st International Conference on Computational Design and Robotic Fabrication (CDRF 2019)

The '2019 DigitalFUTURES - The 1st International Conference on Computational Design and Robotic Fabrication (CDRF 2019)' provides an international platform for advanced scientific research papers on the digital technology of architectural design and construction. The themes of the papers include, but are not limited to, architectural theories, tools, methods and procedures in material intelligence, data intelligence; computational intelligence, and robotic intelligence.

Philip F. Yuan is a Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University and the director of  Academic Committee of Shanghai Digital Fabrication Engineering Technology Center. He also serves as a Council Member of Architects Sector as well as Virtual and Automated Construction Sector at the Architectural Society of China. His research mainly focuses on the field of performance-based architectural tectonics, the application of robotic fabrication equipment and developments of robotic fabrication technologies.
Yi Min (Mike) Xie is a Distinguished Professor of RMIT University, an Adjunct Professor of Nanjing Tech University, and a Guest Professor in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University. He played a leading role in pioneering the ESO and BESO methods, which have had a far-reaching impact in the fields of architecture and structural engineering. Professor Xie is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering and a winner of prestigious awards including AGM Michell Medal and Clunies Ross Innovation Award.
Jiawei Yao is an Associate Research Fellow and Post-doctor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. He received his Ph.D in the Universit of Nottingham, UK. Right now, Dr. Yao is a LEED AP & WELL AP, while he focuses on environemntal-performance urban and building design. His research is sponsored by Shanghai Sailing Program and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
Chao Yan is a Ph.D. candidate at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University.
